The short version

You can browse resources without an account. Writing tools save drafts in your browser; signing in enables cloud saving in supported tools. Analytics is optional and stays off until you choose to accept it. Do not put unnecessary personal information or identifiable research-participant information into drafts or feedback.

Information we process and why

Requested account and purchase services rely on providing the service you request. Optional analytics and email tips rely on your consent. Proportionate support and security administration rely on legitimate interests; records required by law rely on legal obligations.

Cookies and browser storage

Necessary browser storage supports drafts, authentication, privacy preferences and feedback-prompt dismissal. The privacy preference lasts up to 180 days before we ask again. Google Analytics may set analytics cookies only after acceptance. Use “Privacy settings” at the bottom of any page to reject analytics or change your choice. Rejecting stops analytics on the reloaded page and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this site.

Providers and international processing

Google Firebase provides hosting, authentication and cloud storage; Google Analytics provides optional usage measurement; Stripe handles checkout. External font and script-library providers receive technical requests when their resources load. Our email provider processes support correspondence. Microsoft separately processes Store and installation information if you obtain an app through its Store.

These providers may process information outside your country. Their processing arrangements and applicable transfer safeguards depend on the service and location; this notice does not claim that all data stays in the UK. See Google’s privacy policy, Stripe’s privacy policy and Microsoft’s privacy statement.

Retention and deletion

Local drafts remain until you clear this site’s browser storage or remove them using available tool controls. Clearing browser storage may permanently remove unsynced work, so export anything you want to keep first. Signing out does not delete local or cloud drafts.

Cloud work and account information remain while needed to provide your account, unless deletion is requested. Email-resource and feedback records currently have no automatic expiry. You can request their deletion or withdraw email consent at any time. Transaction and security records may need to be retained where required by law or to resolve disputes. We do not claim that a fixed automatic retention schedule is already operating.

To request deletion, email us from your account email where possible and specify whether you want coursework, email subscriptions or your account removed. Authentication infrastructure is shared with other EdPlanner projects: tell us if you use those too so we can explain the effect before deleting a shared account. We may need to verify your identity. Do not email your password.

Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact us using the email above. We aim to respond within 30 days. Requests are handled manually; if identity verification or an extension is necessary, we will explain this to you. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority, including the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Students and safety

These resources may be used by students under 18. Please ask a parent, guardian or teacher if you do not understand these choices, and avoid sharing sensitive personal information. No system can guarantee absolute security. Access to cloud coursework is controlled through authentication and database rules.

Changes

We will update this page when practices change and update the date above. Material changes requiring a new choice will be explained before that processing starts.
